Bangsal harbour were full with people today. Normally we see five or more boats lining up waiting for their turn to leave at the beach. But today all boats are busy with activities. Either they take in items for further transport to the three islands or taking passengers on anf off board. We thought that we gonna have to wait longer to onboard to Gili Meno (due to this island is the most secluded island from the three Gilis, hence less tourists to visit)but not this time. Local and foreign tourists flocked the boats.

The weather was cloudy when we (seven of us) came, with small drops of rain, but we managed to swim, snorkel and relax at the sea for hours. Late afternoon before dinner, we played badminton with the hotel staff.

Around 23:20 the fireworks at opposite island (Gili Terawangan) started to bid 2012 farewel and welcome 2013. Some hotels around Gili Meno also offered some fire works and dance, but they were nothing compared to what Gili Terawangan did. We saw it from the thatched roof veranda of the restaurant we dined at, which we carefully chose for that purpose (of watching the fireworks from distance so we skip the noise). Some of us lying at the hammock watching the fireworks lined up from south to north at the island in front of us

Happy New Year!!

Idag är sista dagen innan lov och det är mest kul på skolan. Det började med samling (tal, sånger, dans och award/utmärkelser utdelningar). Amanda fick två award (roligt!). Sedan var det fika tillsammans (pot luck) och till sist öppet hus till klasserna. Amanda har arbeten visades i minst fem rum, beroende i vilket ämne. Skolan stängdes redan vid 12:00 och öppen igen den 14:e januari 2013.

Hari ini adalah hari terakhir sebelum liburan, jadi acara santai di sekolah. Diawali dengan gathering di aula (pidato, menyanyi, menari dan pembagian piagam). Amanda mendapat dua piagam(Sip!). Setelah itu kami makan snack bersama dan terakhir acara mengunjungi kelas. Hasil kerja Amanda selama semester ini dipajang di lima ruang, tergantung di mata pelajaran apa. Sekolah tutup jam 12 siang dan buka lagi tgl 14 Januari 2013.

Idag fyller Hugo år. Vi ringde runt 15:00 Lombok tid men då sov han fortfarande. Så Hans höll på att ordna fika som födesedagsbarnet skulle få på sängen. Vi ringde igen efter 20 minutes & grattade.

Det är inte så lätt jämt att kommunicera (pga tids skillnaden) när man bor så långt ifrån varandra...:-(

Den här veckan har Amanda haft prov i alla ämnen, förutom matte som de redan gjorde förra veckan.
